L’isola (leeso-lah) “the island” refers to our homeland island of Sicily, Italy. Being born and raised in Brooklyn and spending our entire childhood summers in Sicily with Nonna in our campagna-(farm/country house) it was inevitable waking up to that fresh smell of basil every morning before pranzo-(late lunch).That’s where it all began, understanding the true meaning behind real, fresh ingredients.
In September 2012 we opened our doors to Williamsburg, Brooklyn. After 2 years of construction L’isola was built from the ground-up, from an empty parking lot to a brand new 3 level wood fired pizzeria & restaurant, open-air roof-top deck with NYC skyline views, and our Sotto Loungein the “cellar”. With our hand-built brick oven, we offer an amazing selection of pizza to choose from, along with a complete menu offering many Sicilian specialty pastas, actually made in house. Entrees vary from a juicy burger to the fresh catch of the day.
L’isola Ristorante is family owned, family-friendly and yes kid-friendly as well! Have a big group or party? We also offer our Sotto Loungewith its own bar, independent sound system and separate entrance as a perfect private party room for that dinner, event or any functionaccommodating up to 60 people. And of course our roof-top deck for the spring and summer is always a big hit gazing at the sunset while sipping on an Aperol Spritz!
